Now obviously this leaves us with some HUGE questions, like, "Will there be a simple conversion guide for those of us with the old (current) colors?" I for one welcome the idea of mediums, textures, specific function colors ect and plan to work on reviews as I come across the colors while painting. If these paints are up to par with the majority of their current paintline, then I think this is a step in the right direction that will satisfy some of the painting vets out there!

Thanks to MWC for pushing this out there.

  3. I hope they release a box set with all the colours at xmas like they do every year. I for one will be buying one if they do.

  4. Great to have a better range of paints, but please, don't change the names of the current ones....how annoying!

  6. I really hate it when they change the name of the paints evyer few years. Dammit guys, c'mon. The new paints will be welcome, but only if they're up to the standard they were in the late 80's early, nineties (before they added all the alcohol to make them dry out quicker).

I'll also be interested to see if:

    (i) They reduce the volume of paint in eacxh pot (AGAIN)
    (ii) They increase the price.
(iii) They change the design of the pots to something that provides a better seal (say soft plastic or rubberised lids) rather than the hard plastic lids that aren't airtight for very long.

As it is, Citadel Inks and a half-dozen foundation paints are the only GW products I use at the moment. Let's hope these new paints are of better quality. Even if they're as good (or better) than Vellajo or Reaper, I still won't buy unless the price-to-paint volume ratio is a hell of a lot better.

  9. The rumours are saying that the mega paint set will be available all year round when these are released but will be more expensive as the range has now doubbled in size. Also saying that the paint pots will remain the same and that every color is renamed but there will be a white dwarf with a comparison guide released. But they are just rumours

  11. Hope they increase the quality a bit. I think it's great they're doubling the range size. I use other brands as well, but GW is still the go-to for my wargaming minis.
